Kafirstan now Nuristan

Doing some reading on the Kalash language and came across Kafirstan. I heard about it back in the day and had read about it but forgot the details. It used to be called Kafirstan but not no more. It’s call Nuristan now but I guess the name hung around.

The “kafirs” in that sense or the people who have a completely different faith are in fact some of the people who speak Kalash. Some of them are in fact Muslims and the others have their own faith, a form of ancient Hinduism.
