Chess pieces have the cross

I knew there was the cross on chess pieces for the longest time so I googled “Muslim chess pieces” and lo and behold, there are a lot of these pieces as well.  They look different than the Eurocentric pieces.  It makes sense, Chess came to Europe through the Muslims (Arabs mainly I believe).  Alas though, Eurocentrism is manifest, and in the game of Chess…

Afterthought…so why not change it?…
